Last Name Recruitology
Article by Brad King
I have this theory when it comes to recruiting. Certain players have certain names that fit certain schools. For example, Abdul Gaddy, completely an Arizona name. I don't know why but it sounds like it. Kenny Boynton. Duke name. Liggins really seemed like a Kansas name to me to go with Chalmers, Rush, and Collins. However, if a player commits, then by this theory, his name automatically becomes a name of the school he committed to... and now, Liggins is a Kentucky name.
Orton - Kentucky name. It just fits
Barnes - Richie Farmer, Sean Woods, Jeff Sheppard, Harrison Barnes - Kentucky name
Brandon Knight - Florida name
John Wall - An NC State name
Samardo Samuels - Due to the several nicknames his name could provide, A UL name lock. Though, since he committed, of course it's a UL name.
Jon Henson - Brandan Wright name like name in feel, UNC name
Olek Czyz - White guy with eastern European name = Duke name lock
Glen Rice Jr - A name associated with big city basketball in Glen Rice Sr., GT name lock
Renardo Sidney - UCLA name
Dominic Cheek - a Big East name
Karron Johnson - Cincinnati Name
Farrakohn Hall - Images of Louis Farrakohn, stays in south, Alabama name.
Shawn Kemp? - A Kentucky name
Kenny Boynton - A Duke name
This system is foolproof, I tell you.
